James J. Peters VA Health Technician Renders Emerg
Bronx, NY – Early morning on Friday August 17, James J. Peters VA Medical Center's Health Technician Tiffany Doyle Green was in the right place at the right time for one very lucky 29-year-old Bronx resident. Tiffany was visiting with friends near 190th street in Fordham when shots rang out around 12:00 am. People scattered and the gunshot victim staggered towards her parked car and collapsed. Tiffany immediately rushed to his side and yelled to her friends to call an ambulance. She rolled the victim on his back and applied pressure to the bleeding wound in his chest while talking to him and urging him to stay awake. She identified herself to arriving police who instructed her to keep applying pressure to the wound. Finally, the ambulance arrived and the EMTs took over the situation with the victim in serious condition but still conscious. Telemundo and Pix 11 report that police believe the shooting was a result of an attempted robbery. The victim, who arrived at the hospital in critical condition, has undergone two surgeries and has reportedly vastly improved. Kudos to Tiffany for her quick thinking and her dedication to the health and welfare of others!
