The Patient Advocate and Veteran Experience Programs are established to promote positive experiences for all our Veterans. A fundamental value in VHA is for all our Veterans and their families, who are served in or through VHA facilities, and clinics, to have their priorities and needs addressed in a proactive, convenient, and timely manner.

If you are in need of assistance we have Patient Representatives who are able to help you with your concern in a timely manner. The Patient Representatives serve as liaisons between patients and the medical center. The Patient Representative acts on the patient's behalf and helps patients understand their rights and responsibilities Our patient representatives are located on the 9th floor of our medical center.

We recognize there may be times when a patient or family member has an issue which requires our attention. Of course, the best time to let us know of any concern or question is at the time it happens — so we can resolve it as quickly as possible.

No matter which service you visit when you come to James J. Peters VA, you will always be able to find one of our many managers. The Managers (Clinical Nurse Manager for our inpatients and Program Mangers in our Clinics) can address and resolve your concern at the point of contact.

After your visit, you may receive a confidential questionnaire in the mail asking you about your most recent outpatient or inpatient treatment at our medical center.

Please use the survey to let us know of any concerns, complaints, or questions you have about your care, so that we can resolve them. We also appreciate compliments about what we are doing right.
