September is Suicide Prevention Month. Our theme again this year is “Be There.” Throughout the year, VA works hard to identify and reach Veterans at risk for suicide and yet there are so many Veterans who aren’t in VA care. That’s why every September, we do an extra push to raise awareness among providers, Veterans and communities about the tragic impact of suicide on the Veteran community and on our society and how everyone can prevent suicide by reaching out and being there for our Veterans.

Please share this great webpage called Start the Conversation with Veterans and family members to help them start the conversation.

You don’t need special training to show a Veteran you care. Pick up the phone, send a text. Be There.

Call the Veterans Crisis Line at 1-800-273-8255 and press 1.
