The JJP Launches New Patient Orientation Program

New Employee Orientation Program

Veterans and their families listen to various briefings on medical center programs

Friday, February 25, 2011

The James J. Peters VA Medical Center is a modern, 9-floor tertiary care facility. We offer a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services, including more than 45 specialty and sub-specialty clinics. In short, this medical center is a busy place, but learning how to get around just got a bit easier. The facility recently developed a New Patient Orientation Program that is highly recommended.

Launched in February 2011, the New Patient Orientation (NPO) program is designed to empower new Veterans and their families with the information and knowledge they need to get the most out of their association with the medical center.  Veterans attending the sessions receive briefings and literature from all of the major programs such as Primary Care; Eligibility; Audiology; Dental; Urology; Pharmacy; Woman's Health; OEF/OIF; Patient Advocate; Telehealth; MyHealtheVet; and many more.

Future programs are planned for the 3rd Wednesday of each month.  Pre-Registration is required, so please call 718.584.9000, extension 5641 for information about the next NPO session.
