Visiting hours are broadly established based upon the needs of the patient. While the medical center maintains a very liberal visitation policy, endeavoring to be accommodative to all, visitors are encouraged to discuss any special visiting needs with the unit's head nurse. Whenever possible and medically appropriate, the nurse will coordinate special visiting arrangements to meet patient and family needs.
On the general wards, visiting hours are 24 hours a day. However, there are different times for some of the wards which provide specialized care and care for the seriously ill. When in question, call the medical center at (718) 584-9000 for specific ward visiting hours and information.
If you are unable to visit a patient personally, you may call the patient or send a card or gift.
