James J. Peters VA Medical Center

Visitor Information

Locations

The James J. Peters VA Medical Center serves veterans from the 5 boroughs of New York. In addition to our main medical center in the Bronx, we offer a number of services to our patients in four community-based outpatient clinics.

Waiting Areas

For your convenience and safety, we have special waiting areas throughout the facility. Please do not gather in the hallways or at the nurses' stations. You may also want to review our Visiting Hours and Policies.

Security

VA Police Officers are primarily responsible for maintaining law and order, the protection of patients, visitors, employees, and for the protection of government and private property. For general police assistance or for an emergency, please dial 2222.

Report all suspicious or criminal activity, vehicle accidents, and personal property losses to the VA Police while on the facility grounds as soon as possible. Because VA Medical Centers are federal property, all persons and bags are subject to search. In addition, no weapons, alcohol, or illegal drugs are permitted.

Lost and Found

If you have lost any personal items during your stay, tell your health care team. You can also call our main number at (718) 584-9000 and ask our operators for assistance.

Chapel

An Interfaith Chapel is located in our Extended Care & Rehabilitative Nursing Home.
